Proposed Bike Trails

The trails were identified in the City’s 2006 Parks and Recreation Facilities Master Plan. The trails are consistent with the 2009 Fairfield County Active Transportation and Open Space Plan and MORPC’s 2009 Columbus Metro Users Map. The trails are oriented primarily east-to-west and will connect City neighborhoods with the Diley Road Multi-use Trail and Pickerington Ponds Metro Park.

Once a priority order for the trails has been finalized, the City will pursue funding for the highest ranked trail(s). Possible funding sources include ODNR, ODOT and OPWC. The City’s matching funds for any grant are anticipated to come from developer impact fees, so that no (or minimal) City general fund money is used. The City is excited about the possibly of adding these amenities and we hope that you are, too!
